Approved Paper Vendors
To comply with new paper stock requirements, all orders must now be placed through an MVC approved New Enhanced Tag Vendor.
Any NEW Vendors seeking to be added to the approved paper vendor list must submit samples by July 1, 2025 to be evaluated.
Current approved vendors do not need to take any action.
Tags must meet the following criteria:
General specs:
- Mounting Holes Printed at locations: 2 1/16 x 5/8” and 9 1/16 x 5/8” from left edge.
- Color Printed NJ State Seal (size 1” diameter) on the top left.
- Metallic/Hologram NJMVC Logo (size 2.5” width).
- Perforation lines cut at: 2 ¾” from bottom edge and at 6 3/8” from left edge.
- VOID security print area (indicated by grey shade) in the plate area only.
The security area should only be visible when photocopied.
The word VOID should not be visible on a legitimate tag.
- 7.8mil or 8.0mil Polyester / coated 2 sides that meets all of the following requirements:
- 8 1/2 inch by 11 inch
- Weather resistant (cold, hot, wet, snow, wind and humidity)
- Tear proof
- Abrasion resistant
- Chemical (oil) resistant
- UV light/fade resistant
- Matte finish (to eliminate glossy reflection at night)

If changes to the tag samples are requested, there will be a one-time 15 day extension to make the necessary changes before a final decision is made.
