New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission Vision Screening Service

License Scanners

This service supports the use of a hand held scanner to read driver information from the reverse side of New Jersey Driver's Licenses. Scanners must be calibrated prior to usage. Refer to the Supported Scanner Guide for more details.

Notice to Users

New Jersey law (N.J.S.A. 39:3-10c) requires that every driver take and successfully pass a screening of their vision at least once every ten years. Vision screening helps determine visual acuity.
