Service Information

The State of New Jersey Alcotest Inquiry is an electronic public access service that allows users to obtain Breath Alcohol Test Subject data and Instrument Certification Test data via the Internet. Alcotest Inquiry web interface is provided by State of New Jersey Office of Forensic Science and Office of the Attorney General in keeping with the State of New Jersey’s commitment to providing public access to Alcotest information via a centralized service.

Alcotest Inquiry is available to anyone who registers for an account.

Potential users include attorneys, pro se filers, government agencies, trustees, data collectors, researchers, educational and financial institutions, commercial enterprises, the media, and the general public.

You will need an Alcotest Inquiry account. Sign up for one using our convenient on-line registration process.

Alcotest Inquiry is available 24 hours a day, including weekends.

Updates from the 500+ New Jersey Breath Alcohol testing instruments are uploaded to the Alcotest Central Data Repository on a recurring schedule and are available; in real-time via this web site, once the upload is completed.

Breath Alcohol Testing Results for Subject Tests and associated Instrument Certification Tests are available for searching.

The website provides the ability to individually search Subject Tests data and Instrument Certification Tests data. Additionally, a third Search function will return all results of an Alcotest instrument’s activity.

No, a policy to protect private information while ensuring public access to electronic Breath Alcohol testing information requires that personal identifiers be removed or redacted before the records become public. These identifiers include 1) Subject Name, 2) Subject Date of Birth, 3) Subject Driver License (DL) Number, and 4) Subject DL Issuing State.

$5.00 for every 30 record requested up to a maximum of $60.00.

Some search types may result in more than one record per selection.
