Business Identification

Any business with employees must have a FEIN – this is the business taxpayer identification number. Do not use a SSN unless you are a sole proprietor with no employees and you do not have a FEIN.

If you have a FEIN, you must use it. If you are a sole proprietor with no employees and you do not have an FEIN, you may use your SSN instead.
